Epstein Files Investigation Launched
Inspector General William Blier announced the probe after lawmakers from both parties complained that key information about powerful figures tied to Epstein was being withheld.
The audit will examine how the department collected and reviewed millions of pages of documents, as well as its process for addressing privacy concerns for survivors.
Doubts have been raised by victims about the thoroughness of previous investigations into Epstein’s associates.
The findings are expected to be published later this year, though no specific timeline has been provided.
