Beijing seniors defy swimming ban

Elderly Beijing residents, including 92-year-old Wang Jianbao, continue to defy a swimming ban to cool off in the shadow of a palace.

Wang makes a 40-minute trip on his tricycle every day from March to November for a dip.

The swimmers say the traditional practice is a cherished part of their lives, despite official restrictions.

The ban is part of efforts to protect the historic site, but the seniors show no sign of stopping.
