ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons Resigns
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed Lyons' departure but did not immediately name a successor for the critical leadership post.
His resignation comes amid a massive hiring spree at the agency and growing public scrutiny over the backgrounds and qualifications of new recruits.
Under Lyons' tenure, ICE launched high-profile operations including 'Operation Metro Surge' and established controversial detention centers in several states.
The administration is reportedly considering Senator Markwayne Mullin as a potential replacement to lead the agency's hardline agenda.
