EU Approves Tariff Deal with US to Avert Trade War

The European Parliament approved the last remaining components of a long-delayed transatlantic tariff agreement, cutting duties on a wide range of U.S. goods to fulfill the European Union's side of a trade pact originally struck with President Trump.

The vote removes the final parliamentary hurdles to implementing the controversial agreement and is intended to prevent a dangerous new round of tariff escalation.

The deal stabilizes trade relations at a moment when global supply chains are already strained by the Middle East conflict and economic uncertainty.

MEPs debated the pact's merits intensely before arriving at the final endorsement.
