Amazon and Anthropic agree $100bn deal

The alliance between Amazon and Anthropic has deepened significantly with a new multi-year deal focused on artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Anthropic, the creator of the Claude chatbot, has committed to spending over $100 billion on Amazon Web Services' cloud technology over the next decade.

This partnership aims to challenge Nvidia's dominance in the AI hardware market by utilizing Amazon's custom Trainium and Inferentia chips.

The deal comes as Anthropic seeks to stabilize its operations following several high-profile outages earlier this year.
