Peter Magyar Unseats Viktor Orban

Hungary's political landscape has undergone a seismic shift as Peter Magyar led his Tisza party to a decisive supermajority, ending the long-standing rule of Viktor Orban.

Magyar campaigned on a platform of democratic renewal, anti-corruption, and the restoration of ties with the European Union and Ukraine.

Orban, a key ally of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, conceded defeat in what he described as a painful but unambiguous result.

The new leadership is expected to unlock billions in frozen EU funds and end Hungary's obstruction of aid to Kyiv.
