EU Approves $106B Ukraine Loan

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the 'strong and fundamental' decision, which will provide a vital lifeline as Kyiv faces a massive budget deficit.

One-third of the funds are earmarked for the national budget, while the remaining two-thirds will go toward defense, including the production of advanced drones.

The agreement also includes a 20th package of sanctions against Russia, targeting its energy sector and shadow fleet.

EU leaders in Cyprus emphasized that the loan is a clear signal of Europe's long-term commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty.
