Hantavirus ship docks in Rotterdam

The MV Hondius cruise ship has docked in Rotterdam for disinfection following a deadly hantavirus outbreak that claimed three lives at sea.

Dutch authorities are preparing to quarantine the remaining crew and medical staff as international health officials monitor returning passengers.

The CDC has issued mandatory quarantine orders for two American passengers who were exposed to the virus, which is typically spread by rodents.

The vessel is scheduled for a deep cleaning before it is cleared to set sail for its next destination in Iceland.
