Gaza Amputees Face Prosthetic Shortage

The restrictions have left thousands of people, including 14-year-old former footballer Fadel al-Naji, largely confined to their homes without the ability to walk.

Israel cites concerns that materials used for medical casts could be diverted for military purposes, a claim disputed by international humanitarian groups.

The shortage is exacerbating the long-term health crisis in the enclave, where the death toll from the ongoing conflict has reportedly surpassed 72,000.

Medical professionals warn that the lack of proper prosthetic care will lead to permanent disabilities for an entire generation of Palestinians.
