Irish Fuel Protests Clear Dublin

Irish Fuel Protests Clear Dublin

Hundreds of officers were deployed to regain control of O'Connell Street as tractors and trucks were moved out of the city center.

While the main thoroughfare has been reopened, some protests continue at regional ports, including Rosslare and Foynes, though organizers say they do not want the situation to escalate further.

Prime Minister Micheal Martin announced further reductions in fuel duties and a delay in a scheduled carbon tax increase to address the crisis.

However, some protest leaders have described the measures as 'insulting' and 'not enough,' threatening to resume blockades if more support is not provided.
