Deadly Riot at Sri Lanka Prison Kills Dozens

At least 25 people were killed and more than 100 injured in clashes between rival groups of inmates at Negombo prison in Sri Lanka.

The violence reportedly erupted over drug trafficking activities within the prison, with inmates seizing firearms from guards.

The wounded were rushed to Negombo hospital, about 35km north of the capital Colombo, following overnight clashes between two drug gangs.

Police and hospital sources confirmed the death toll as authorities worked to restore order.
