EU Approves $106 Billion Ukraine Loan

EU Approves $106 Billion Ukraine Loan

The funding is intended to provide a vital lifeline for Kyiv, preventing deep cuts to public services and bolstering its defense against Russian forces.

One-third of the loan will be allocated to the national budget, while the remaining two-thirds will fund military equipment, including a significant investment in drones.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the first tranche of funds is expected to arrive by June.

The approval comes as Ukraine faces a massive budget deficit and critical shortages of air defense supplies.
