Australia's fuel crisis deepens
Firefighters battled flames reaching 60 meters high as smoke warnings were issued for nearby residents.
Energy Minister Chris Bowen stated that the fire appears to be an accident, though its timing is particularly challenging for the government's fuel-saving campaign.
The refinery supplies over 50% of Victoria's fuel and 10% of the national total.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is currently in Malaysia for high-level talks aimed at securing alternative fuel and fertilizer supplies.
