Spring flooding forces evacuations
In western Quebec, the town of Fort Coulonge is under a state of emergency as river volumes reach ten times their seasonal average.
Similarly, residents in Noelville and French River, Ontario, are bracing for conditions that could surpass the record flooding of 2019.
Manitoba's Peguis First Nation has also issued evacuation orders as water levels rise rapidly.
Provincial emergency teams are on the ground assisting with sandbagging efforts and monitoring critical infrastructure.
