UK Braces for Fourth Heatwave as Wildfire Rages

A fourth heatwave of the summer will hit the UK next week, with temperatures expected to reach 33C, as a large wildfire in the Cairngorms continues to burn for an 11th day.

The government has offered military support, including Chinook helicopters, to battle the blaze.

Parts of southern England will meet heatwave criteria by Wednesday, with the risk of exceptionally severe fires returning after a brief lull.

The prolonged hot and dry conditions are straining emergency services.
