Artemis II astronauts return home

Commander Reid Wiseman, along with Christina Koch, Victor Glover, and Canadian Jeremy Hansen, successfully splashed down in the Pacific Ocean before being transported back to the Johnson Space Center.

During their first public appearance, the astronauts described Earth as a 'lifeboat' and shared stunning high-resolution imagery captured during their ten-day journey.

The mission tested the Orion spacecraft's critical systems and set a new record for the farthest distance humans have ever traveled from Earth.

NASA officials confirmed the crew is in excellent health and that the data collected will be vital for establishing a permanent lunar base.
