Israel and Lebanon Agree Ceasefire

The temporary cessation of hostilities between Israeli forces and Hezbollah militants marks a significant shift in the parallel conflicts currently destabilizing the region.

While the truce is initially set for 10 days, US officials have indicated it could be extended through mutual agreement to facilitate permanent security negotiations.

President Trump has invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to Washington for further talks.

However, skepticism remains as the Lebanese army has already reported initial violations of the agreement by Israeli forces.
