NASA Ends Mars MAVEN Mission
NASA has officially declared the end of its Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution (MAVEN) orbiter mission, following a six-month period of lost contact with the spacecraft.
Launched to study Mars's upper atmosphere, ionosphere, and interactions with the solar wind, MAVEN had significantly surpassed its initial mission duration, operating for over a decade.
The probe delivered invaluable data that has deepened our understanding of how Mars lost its ancient atmosphere and liquid water.
While the mission concludes, the scientific insights gained will continue to inform future Mars exploration endeavors.
