Lidl announces massive UK expansion

Lidl has unveiled an ambitious growth strategy for the United Kingdom, targeting a total of 1,100 stores by the end of 2026.

The discount retailer has published a 'wish list' of nearly 900 specific locations where it is actively seeking to acquire land or existing buildings.

To accelerate the process, Lidl is offering a 'finder's fee' of up to £22,500 to anyone who identifies a site that the company successfully develops.

This massive expansion plan comes as budget supermarkets continue to gain market share from traditional retailers amid a prolonged cost-of-living crisis.
