Father kills 8 children in Louisiana
The Shreveport community is in mourning after the deadliest mass shooting in the U.S. in more than two years claimed the lives of eight young children.
The victims, ranging in age from 3 to 11, were executed by Elkins following a disturbing phone call to his parents about his failing marriage.
Family members revealed that Elkins had been suffering from severe mental health problems and had recently sought treatment through the VA. The tragedy has sparked renewed calls for domestic violence prevention and mental health resources specifically tailored for Black communities.
