Artemis II crew returns home
NASA's Artemis II mission is nearing its dramatic conclusion as the crew prepares for a fiery return to Earth after traveling nearly 700,000 miles.
The mission, the first crewed voyage to the lunar vicinity in over half a century, has set multiple records and provided unprecedented views of the moon's far side.
Recovery teams from the U.S. Navy are stationed off the coast of San Diego to retrieve the Orion capsule following its descent under parachutes.
While the mission has been a technical success, the final 13 minutes of atmospheric entry remain the most dangerous phase for the crew.
