Trump's WSJ Defamation Suit Dismissed

U.S. District Judge Darrin P. Gayles ruled that President Trump failed to plausibly allege that the Wall Street Journal acted with 'actual malice' in its reporting.

The lawsuit targeted the paper and its owner, Rupert Murdoch, over an article describing a 2003 birthday greeting for Jeffrey Epstein that purportedly bore Trump's signature.

Trump has consistently denied writing the letter and claimed the report tarnished his reputation.

The judge has given the president's legal team until April 27 to amend the complaint and refile the case.
