James Bulger's grave vandalized

Ornaments and cherub statues by the gravestone were found smashed, prompting an immediate police investigation.

Bulger's mother, Denise Fergus, described the act as 'evil' and expressed her heartbreak over the repeated targeting of her son's final resting place.

The grave had only recently been repaired following a similar incident in February.

Merseyside Police have confirmed that the suspect remains in custody as they work to determine the motive behind the senseless destruction.
