Russian Artist Who Satirised Putin Shot Dead in Poland

Russian dissident artist Semyon Skrepetsky, known for his provocative caricatures of President Vladimir Putin, was shot dead in an execution-style killing in the eastern Polish town of Biaล‚a Podlaska.

The artist, whose real name was Robert Kuzovkov, sustained five gunshot wounds including a shot to the head in what Polish authorities are treating as a targeted assassination.

Two Belarusian nationals have been arrested in connection with the murder as the investigation expands.

The Kremlin has denied any involvement, but the killing has sent shockwaves through the exiled Russian dissident community in Europe.
