Russia launches deadly Ukraine strikes

Moscow unleashed a massive barrage of nearly 700 drones and dozens of ballistic missiles across Ukraine overnight, shattering a brief Easter ceasefire.

Ukrainian officials reported that the strikes caused significant damage to critical infrastructure and apartment blocks, with a 12-year-old child among the dead in Odesa.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, currently touring Europe, renewed his plea for allies to provide more air defense systems.

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed the assault was in retaliation for recent Ukrainian strikes inside Russian territory.
