Artemis II Captures Historic Earthset

During their historic loop around the lunar far side, the four-person crew captured approximately 10,000 high-resolution images of terrain never before seen by human eyes.

The mission reached a record distance of 252,756 miles from Earth, providing a vital scientific baseline for future lunar landings.

In an emotional tribute, the crew proposed naming a newly discovered crater 'Carroll' after mission commander Reid Wiseman's late wife.

The Orion capsule is currently on a trajectory for a scheduled splashdown off the San Diego coast this Friday.
