Elon Musk snubs French prosecutors

The legal standoff between Elon Musk and European regulators has intensified following his no-show in Paris on Monday.

Prosecutors had summoned Musk to answer questions about X's role in spreading child abuse materials, Holocaust denial, and sexually explicit deepfakes.

The investigation, which began in early 2025, is being led by the cybercrime division of the Paris prosecutor’s office.

While Musk has not commented on the snub, the US Department of Justice has signaled it will not assist the French probe, citing concerns over free expression.
