Louisiana Mass Shooting Kills Eight
The tragedy unfolded across two separate residences early Sunday morning following a domestic dispute between Elkins and his wife.
Seven of the eight victims, ranging in age from 3 to 11, were Elkins' own children, while the eighth was his young nephew.
Two women were also wounded in the spree, which has been labeled the deadliest mass shooting in the United States in over two years.
Relatives revealed that Elkins had recently sought mental health treatment from the Veterans Affairs department and was struggling with a pending divorce.
