Russia strikes Kyiv in retaliation

Russia has launched a massive wave of missile and drone strikes against Kyiv, killing at least one person and wounding dozens more.

The assault follows a vow of retaliation from Moscow after a Ukrainian strike on a student dormitory in the Russian-occupied Luhansk region that killed 18 people.

Ukrainian officials reported damage to residential buildings and schools across all districts of the capital.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia's use of hypersonic Oreshnik ballistic missiles sets a dangerous global precedent for potential aggressors.
