UK to Ban School Phones by Law
The government will introduce an amendment to the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill to upgrade existing guidance into a formal law.
Supporters of the measure argue it will reduce classroom distractions and combat the negative effects of social media on students' mental health.
While many schools have already implemented their own policies, the new law aims to ensure consistency across the country.
Some critics, however, argue that the focus should be on broader political decisions rather than blaming parents and students for behavioral issues.
