Artemis II crew returns home

Mission commander Reid Wiseman, along with Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen, successfully completed the high-stakes test flight designed to pave the way for future lunar landings.

The capsule entered Earth's atmosphere at 25,000 miles per hour before a precision splashdown off the coast of San Diego.

This mission set new records for distance traveled by a crewed spacecraft, surpassing the legacy of Apollo 13.

While the homecoming is being celebrated in Houston, officials caution that significant technical and budgetary hurdles remain for the upcoming Artemis III landing mission.
