Jonathan Quick announces retirement
Veteran goaltender Jonathan Quick has announced his retirement from the NHL at age 40 after nearly two decades in the league.
Quick, a three-time Stanley Cup champion and Conn Smythe Trophy winner, is widely regarded as one of the best goaltenders of his generation.
He spent the majority of his career with the Los Angeles Kings, where he led the team to two titles, before finishing his career with the New York Rangers.
Quick stated that he willed his way to a final season that allowed him to go out on his own terms.
