20 dead in 68 Hormuz incidents, IMO says

The International Maritime Organization has reported that 20 people have died in 68 incidents near the Strait of Hormuz over the past six months.

About half of the incidents involved tankers, with container ships and bulk carriers also affected.

The figures highlight the ongoing risks to shipping in the region amid heightened tensions.

The IMO has called for increased maritime security measures.
