Artemis II Astronauts Recount Mission

Artemis II Astronauts Recount Mission

Nearly a week after splashing down in the Pacific Ocean, the Artemis II crew shared detailed reflections on their historic 10-day voyage.

Commander Reid Wiseman and his team gave high marks to the Orion capsule's heat shield, which performed flawlessly during a high-speed return to Earth.

The mission, which included the first woman, the first person of color, and the first non-U.S. citizen to fly to the moon, is seen as a major milestone in the modern lunar renaissance.

The astronauts also discussed the physical challenges of readjusting to gravity and the deep bonds of friendship formed during the flight.
