Gaza aid flotilla sets sail

Gaza aid flotilla sets sail

Dozens of vessels from the Global Sumud Flotilla have departed from Turkey in a high-stakes attempt to break the Israeli naval blockade of Gaza.

The activists are carrying humanitarian aid for Palestinians despite the risk of interception by Israeli forces.

This latest mission comes just weeks after a previous convoy was stopped and its members detained.

Organizers stated that the flotilla is a necessary response to the worsening hunger crisis and lack of medical supplies in the Gaza Strip.
