Wout van Aert wins Paris-Roubaix
Van Aert overcame a mid-race puncture to catch and eventually defeat Pogacar in a brutal race across the cobbles.
The 31-year-old was emotional after the win, stating that he had 'stopped believing a lot of times' before this breakthrough.
Pogacar, who was aiming for cycling history, finished as runner-up after a grueling five-hour battle.
The victory is Van Aert's second Monument win, following his 2020 Milan-San Remo triumph.
