Once a darling of Silicon Valley for its sustainable wool sneakers, Allbirds has struggled with declining sales and a lack of profitability since its 2021 IPO. The company has secured $50 million in new financing to acquire high-end graphics processing units (GPUs) and build out a 'GPU-as-a-Service' cloud platform.
