EU unblocks €90bn Ukraine loan

EU unblocks €90bn Ukraine loan

Following months of diplomatic deadlock, the European Union has finalized an agreement to provide a €90 billion loan to Ukraine.

The breakthrough occurred after Hungary and Slovakia lifted their vetoes, coinciding with the resumption of oil flows through the Druzhba pipeline.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled to meet with EU leaders in Cyprus to commemorate the release of the vital financial lifeline.

Additionally, the bloc has approved its 20th package of sanctions against Russia to further squeeze the Kremlin's war economy.
