Deadly shooting at Mexico pyramids

A rare act of violence at a major tourist attraction has left a Canadian national dead and multiple international visitors wounded at the Teotihuacán pyramids north of Mexico City.

Authorities report that the gunman, who was allegedly inspired by the Columbine massacre, opened fire on crowds gathered at the pre-Aztecan site before turning the weapon on himself.

The victims include six Americans and several children, prompting an urgent investigation by Mexican security forces.

The incident occurred on the 27th anniversary of the Columbine school shooting, adding a disturbing ideological dimension to the tragedy.
