Masai Russell breaks hurdles world record

American hurdler and Olympic champion Masai Russell has broken Tobi Amusan's world record in the women's 100m hurdles, ending the Nigerian's four-year reign in the event.

Russell set the new record at the Diamond League meet in Zurich on Thursday.

The achievement marks a significant milestone in Russell's career and resets the standard for the event.

Amusan's record had stood since 2022.
