Kash Patel Defamation Suit Dismissed
The litigation stemmed from remarks made by Frank Figliuzzi, who suggested on air that Patel was more visible at nightclubs than at the bureau's headquarters.
Judge George C. Hanks Jr. stated that Patel failed to allege facts showing the comments were made with actual malice.
The ruling is being hailed as a victory for press freedom by media advocates.
Patel, however, continues to face scrutiny from House Democrats who have launched an investigation into his alleged drinking habits and job performance.
