Canadian tourist killed at Teotihuacán

Tragedy struck one of Mexico's most iconic archaeological sites on Monday when a sniper targeted crowds at the Teotihuacán pyramids.

Authorities confirmed that a Canadian tourist was killed and at least six others were wounded in the random attack.

The gunman climbed midway up the Pyramid of the Moon before opening fire and eventually turning the weapon on himself.

The incident has raised serious security concerns as Mexico prepares to co-host the upcoming World Cup.
