Gas Prices May Stay High Until 2027
In a candid assessment of the energy market, Secretary Chris Wright acknowledged that Americans might face high gas prices for at least another year.
While some administration officials had predicted relief by summer, Wright suggested that the $3-per-gallon threshold might not be reached until after the next midterm elections.
The national average currently sits above $4, a significant increase that has contributed to President Trump's declining approval ratings.
Wright emphasized that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is contingent on a permanent peace deal with Iran.
