Mexico Pyramid Shooting Was Planned
The assailant, identified as 27-year-old Julio César Jasso, carried materials in his backpack related to the 1999 Columbine High School massacre.
Security officials stated that Jasso had made multiple scouting visits to the archaeological site before opening fire on tourists at the top of the Pyramid of the Moon.
Among the injured were six American citizens, prompting calls for tighter security at major Mexican tourist destinations ahead of the World Cup.
The gunman took his own life at the scene after being cornered by first responders.
