Artemis II Crew Returns Home

The Artemis II mission concluded on Friday as the Orion spacecraft Integrity splashed down safely off the coast of San Diego.

Commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, and mission specialists Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen completed a nearly 700,000-mile journey that tested essential deep-space systems.

Upon reentry, the capsule endured temperatures of 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit before deploying a series of parachutes for a precision landing.

The successful recovery by the U.S. Navy marks the first crewed voyage beyond low-Earth orbit in over half a century.
