Missing scientists probe expands

The wave of vanished personnel connected to highly secretive U.S. research has triggered a national security alarm on Capitol Hill.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer described the situation as 'sinister' and unlikely to be a coincidence, given the top-level security clearances held by many of the individuals.

The investigation is focusing on potential links between the cases, which involve scientists from NASA, the Department of Energy, and various defense projects.

While some experts suggest the cases could be standalone incidents, the administration is treating the matter with extreme seriousness.
