EU unblocks critical Ukraine loan

The European Union has cleared the path for a massive 106-billion-dollar financial aid package to support Ukraine's military and economic stability over the next two years.

The agreement was reached in Brussels after the outgoing Hungarian administration of Viktor Orban ceased its opposition to the funding.

This diplomatic resolution coincided with the Ukrainian operator of the Druzhba pipeline announcing the resumption of crude oil transit to Hungary and Slovakia.

Alongside the loan, EU envoys are poised to adopt a 20th package of sanctions against Russia to further pressure the Kremlin.
