UK Tobacco Ban Passes

The Tobacco and Vapes Bill is considered the toughest anti-smoking measure in the world, targeting a total phase-out of tobacco use in Britain.

Health Minister Gillian Merron hailed the bill's passage as a historic victory for public health that will save thousands of lives and billions of pounds for the NHS. However, the move has faced criticism from some lawmakers who argue it is an unenforceable example of 'nanny state' overreach.

The law also includes new restrictions on the flavor and packaging of vapes to make them less attractive to children.
