Mass Shooting in Kyiv

Ukrainian authorities are investigating a horrific shooting spree in the capital that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has characterized as a 'terrorist act.' The gunman reportedly set his own apartment ablaze before beginning his attack on civilians in the street and eventually barricading himself in a grocery store.

Security forces launched a storming operation after a 40-minute standoff when negotiations failed and a hostage was killed.

Investigators are currently examining potential links to Russian intelligence, though a definitive motive has yet to be established.
