Trump orders naval blockade

The United States military, under direct orders from President Donald Trump, will begin blockading all maritime traffic entering or exiting Iranian ports starting Monday morning.

This escalation follows 21 hours of unproductive face-to-face talks in Islamabad between Vice President JD Vance and Iranian officials, which reportedly failed over Tehran's refusal to abandon its nuclear ambitions.

While the blockade is intended to target Iranian vessels specifically, experts warn it constitutes an act of war that could destabilize global energy markets and trigger a wider conflict.

International allies, including the United Kingdom and Australia, have expressed caution or outright refusal to participate in the enforcement of the blockade.
